Tiampati was born and raised in a Maasai village, where he learned the deep wisdom of his people—how to live in harmony with the land, care for livestock, and uphold traditions passed down through generations. His grandfather, a respected elder, played a key role in shaping his worldview, teaching him that stewardship of the land is not just a duty but a sacred responsibility. Determined to gain the knowledge needed to make a difference, Tiampati pursued education and training in social entrepreneurship, regenerative agriculture, and holistic management. He built a career in the city, working in formal employment, but something was missing. The Maasai lands were changing, and his people were struggling. He knew he couldn't ignore the call of his roots. In 2016, Tiampati made a life-altering decision: he left his job in the city and returned to his rural village, driven by a single mission—to bring lasting change to the Maasai. He saw that true prosperity wasn’t about abandoning traditions for modernity but about creating a sustainable future that honored both. Inspired by the Doughnut Economy, he founded Maasai Doughnut Village—a pioneering initiative focused on restoring land, empowering communities, and securing the Maasai's economic and cultural future. Through climate action, education, and regenerative practices, he is not just responding to challenges—he is rewriting the story of his people. This is more than a project. It is a movement.
